Vintage National Motor Bearing Co. Brass Shim Stock

I'm not sure how old this cardboard cannister is that hold two rolls of .002" brass shim stock but I'm guessing mid-century. It has an opening on the side to dispense the sheet. I had to press really hard on my Mitutoyo to get .002". There is a small piece of .004" in there too. No lid.
