Vintage Miniature Dollhouse Artisan MARCIA BACKSTROM Doll Old Lady c2004 FAB!
This is a wonderful, one-of-a-kind vintage miniature artisan dollhouse lady character doll
. This doll is an artisan piece, made by the late Marcia Backstrom, and dated 2004. I am a huge fan of Marcia Backstrom, I love every doll she ever made.  This one is called 'Miss Maggie', Marcia was known for using antique, vintage fabrics and trims and this one is no exception, she's wearing a silk velvet and real fur caplet, her hat is grosgrain ribbon and hand tatted Victorian lace trim.  I love her tiny pearl necklace, black lace and brooch.  Her silk skirt is trimmed with incredible pleated lace.  She has real glass - wire rimmed glasses, fabulous hair made of multiple shades of grey, silver and white.  She has painted gloved hands and Victorian boots.  She can stand without aid.  She's fancy, fabulous and an incredible piece of art.  Don't let this one get away, it's special.
I have started this one at a very low starting price, as everyone building a vintage miniature collection needs a Marcia Backstrom doll.
This wonderful little miniature was from a collection, 40 years in the making.  Every collection has a story and this one is well, just wonderfully special. I was surprised to see such a tiny home with so many minis, the story behind the person, is that she lived a grand life in a large home, she traveled the world in search for artisan miniatures and boy did she find them.  This collection is so vast, it features miniatures from artisans
Herbillon, Alan Barnes, John Hodgson, Targoni, Ligia, Wonnacott, Jim Irish, William Robertson, Cristina Noriega, Harry Smith, Ernie Levy, Robert Dawson, Keith Bougourd, Maritza Moran, Neil Batson, Susanne Russo, Acquisto, Renee Isabelle, Kupjack, O'meara, Obadiah Fisher, EM Silver, Marcia Backstrom, Wee Forest Folk, Henry Staring-Egberts, Tricia Street, Le Chateau, Ana Felipe, Christopher Whitford, Christine Dell'Anna, Paula Gilhooley, Almudena Gonzalez and more.  All of these artisans have been amazing to discover, but what was so 'wonderfully' special to me, was in the last years of her life, she sold her estate, moved to a small home and surrounded herself with all of the things that made her happy...her miniatures and  I know she would want each piece to find a wonderful new collection to reside within.  It will take a few weeks to do all the listings, I will have Buy It Now items as well.  Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
