Jimmie Allen was a fictional character whose adventures were broadcast in the 1930s as a fifteen minute long radio serial. Its key audience was teenaged boys, because Jimmie himself was sixteen years old. Many girls enjoyed it too (probably because it was targeted at teenaged boys).
Skelly Oil Company was the main sponsor of the series until 1937. This book has a stamp from a Skelly station in Miami, Oklahoma. On November 28, 1935, it was presented to young Ben Wesley Ralston, who dutifully recorded his name for all posterity.
Whether your interest is in Americana, aviation or oil advertising, this can be a key piece to add to your collection. Or a fine gift to someone you know.
