VINTAGE 1950s LION NATURALUBE MOTOR OIL SERVICE STATION PREMIUM BULLET PENCIL

Offered here together, are two different items, used to promote LION brand motor oil. I think that they are from the 1940's or 1950's. Both have a hard plastic case, which reads: "LION...NATURALUBE RE-INFORCED MOTOR OIL...Saves Wear - REMOVES CARBON - Adds Power." They are also marked: "YOUR THREE LINE IMPRINT HERE." These are unprinted "salesman samples." The service station owner would order these, and have their business name, address and phone number custom printed in the area where it is marked: "Your Three Line Imprint here." One of these is a "bullet pencil." It is shaped like a rifle bullet, with a small pencil concealed inside the bullet head. I'm really not sure what the other is. One end opens, and you can see that SOMETHING IS MISSING INSIDE. (Perhaps a thicker pencil?) This second one has an orange plastic tip, on either end, and the plastic is crazed or cracked. The body of this one displays pretty well, but is yellowed & lightly discolored. The bullet pencil is very nice, but also has a bit of yellowing. The eraser, and inner pencil, look unused. You get BOTH of these "Lion Naturalube Motor Oil" advertising give-aways, which are guaranteed to be old & original or your money back.
