Adjustable Oak Upright Piano Lid Prop Block. Holds lid up while tuning.
Prevents marring of customer's walls and/or picture frames, etc. Also allows you to avoid leaning lid backward, beyond vertical (like when tuning where there is no wall behind the piano) and stressing the lid hinges.
In my opinion this lid prop provides superior function to the metal/plastic triangle type lid props which never worked well for me at all. They slip, they don't always hold lids at the angle I want, and they just frustrate me every time I use them. If you want a no non-sense lid prop that is adjustable, rugged, and works every time, this one will get it done!

5" long, body 11/16" wide (1.5" with thumbscrew), dowel 13/16 dia x 1" wide.
Black para cord for strength and durability. Ends have been heat treated (nylon melted under small flame) to prevent fraying.
Buckskin non-slip ends.
Adjustable to hold the piano lid where you want it.
One lid prop works fine on all but the very largest, heaviest old upright lids. For those, use 2 lid props...one at each end of the piano and it works perfectly! (See pic. 2 props hold the heaviest lid I've come across in 25 yrs)
Note: The end of the thumb screw does not actually contact the para cord inside the lid prop (otherwise it would shred the cord after just a few uses). Instead, the cord passes through two small, smooth, steel plates inside that protect it from the screw, but allows for a good non-slip hold.
Hand made in my shop with TLC. Will give you many years of use! I've personally been using my original pro-type for well over 7 years tuning full-time and still works like new.
