    Description

Our older sister, Jane Graber, has been handcrafting miniature pottery (1:12 scale) for about 37 years, and is a listed IGMA artisan. As Jane moves toward retirement, she has essentially stopped doing artisan shows, though she may do one in 2022. Jane is widely acclaimed as a ceramic miniaturist, and at Found we regularly receive requests from all over the world.
Jane has been creating miniature redware pottery since a few years after she began crafting miniatures. Redware was part of the daily tableware in the early American colonies of the late 18th century and the early 19th century in the U.S. Her sgraffito ware is particularly special because it requires multiple layers of glaze, and then a meticulous process of scraping through the layers to create the desired design.
In this offering we have one of Jane's redware sgraffito lidded teapot (the lid is beeswaxed on), this one with a great floral design taken from an early-19th-century pot. Lovely. The redware sgraffito teapot is 3/4" tall.
We are happy to combine shipping if you buy more than one pot from our offerings this week. We are also glad to ship anywhere in the world as well, so please feel free to bid.
