This is a
n incredible, antique carved bone children's chair and matching settee for a young child or a child's doll (these are very tiny), both perfectly scaled for a dollhouse doll child to love and enjoy. They are Napoleonic Prisoner of War pieces that date back to circa 1799-1815.
Pieces like these are very rare to find.  Prisoner's crafted these dollhouse pieces to be sold to families of means so they would earn money for food and other necessities.
There are so many details in these pieces. Someone spent a great deal of time creating these special little furnishings!  Both pieces have ornate designs on the backs and seats, with curved legs and intricate toppers. They are still strong but delicate at the same time.

This wonderful little miniature was from a collection, 40 years in the making.  Every collection has a story and this one is well, just wonderfully special. I was surprised to see such a tiny home with so many minis, the story behind the person, is that she lived a grand life in a large home, she traveled the world in search for artisan miniatures and boy did she find them.  This collection is so vast, it features miniatures from artisans around the world, most pre internet as she preferred to go to shows or meet the artisans directly but
what was so 'wonderfully' special to me, was in the last years of her life, she sold her estate, moved to a small home and surrounded herself with all of the things that made her happy...her miniatures and  I know she would want each piece to find a wonderful new collection to reside within.  Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
