    Description

Up for sale is a real rarity. Most people have never even seen one! Chrysler dealers were selling Lebaron convertibles like hot cakes during the late 80's, early 90's and the Dodge dealers clamored for a convertible of their own to sell. To satisfy those dealers, Chrysler sent a two door Dodge Shadow to their friends and American Sunroof Corporation and had them design a convertible. The end result was a sharp little 4 seater, affordable convertible. Unfortunately they never took off like the Lebaron did so you rarely saw them then and even less so now. Most didn't survive!
Here we have a top of the line ES TURBO model from 1991. Fully equipped with every option you could get (except the power drivers seat), this car is a true time capsule. Purchased out of Iowa and always adult owned, it's never been abused. Fun and easy to fix, 2.5 turbocharged engine mated to a 3 speed automatic transmission, this car runs, drives and performs as you'd expect and was designed. Fun and quirky, you'll get looks everywhere you go.
Upon it's arrival, we immediately replaced the original timing belt and tensioner along with the water pump, using only OE Mopar parts. We also changed the transmission filter and fluid and performed a complete tune up with new spark plugs, cap. rotor and wires. Again, using only OE Mopar parts because this car deserved it. Shortly there after, the original fuel pump started to leak so we sourced an original new old stock pump from a dealer in NH and replaced that as well. Then a brand new convertible top was fitted using the original vinyl fabric and back window at a cost of ,000 alone! Again, because this car deserved it. I was intending to keep this car in my personal collection but as they say, you can't keep em all so I'm passing this along to another worthy custodian.
All that being said, it's not a perfect car. Dodge never intended for these to be around 30 years later. The air conditioning is all hooked up. Belt on the compressor and such but it blows warm air. The passenger side power window works but goes up and down slow intermittently. Also, the odometer reads just over 79,000 miles but stopped working about 6 years ago but car was used sparingly since. Actual mileage is guesstimated to be around 85,000 or less. The condition of the car certainly backs that up! There are parts available to fix it. The original boot for the convertible top is included but missing some of it's snaps for proper fitment.  I do have a walk around video of the car available to forward to serious parties. PLEASE do not bid unless you plan to follow through with the transaction. Please check with your partner before making an offer and if you have ZERO feedback, please send me a message before purchasing or it will be declined. I encourage in person viewing but understand that doesn't always work. I do my best to provide THE MOST information possible so you are confident. Also, I can arrange transportation to anywhere. No stress. No hassle. Thanks!
