Old mechanical pencil here, celebrating the 18th anniversary of the JACKSON CENTER OIL CO ., which is near the larger city of   SIDNEY in the state of OHIO . And it seems as if they managed to " kill two birds with one stone " here, as the pencil also recognizes the 100th anniversary of the game of baseball at the very same time on the very same pencil ! ( Did ya see what they did, there ? ! ) This old pencil is in great working condition with some lead still present . Since the game of baseball was invented ( allegedly ) by Abner Doubleday in 1839, we know this pencil dates to the year, 1939 . Two - digit phone number of " 68 " ! Very, very cool !
